Jennifer J. Stevens is the founding attorney of Stevens Family Law & Mediation PLLC located in Burnsville, Minnesota where she concentrates her practice exclusively in the area of family law. Jennifer provides services in alternative dispute resolution as a family law mediator and early neutral evaluator, including SENE (social early neutral evaluations) and FENE (financial early neutral evaluations). Jennifer also provides legal representation for divorce, including collaborative or cooperative divorce.

When establishing her own practice in Minnesota, it was imperative she continued to practice in the same manner that steered clients away from litigation, while still providing competent representation. Background and Education.
Ms. Stevens received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2001 from the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis majoring in Sociology of Law, Criminology and Deviance and double minoring in Psychology and Business Management. In 2008, Ms. Stevens earned her Juris Doctor from Creighton University School of Law in Omaha, Nebraska. While at Creighton, Ms. Stevens was the recipient of two CALI Excellence for Future Awards for achieving the highest grade in Legal Writing & Lawyering I and Advanced Legal Writing and Drafting. During her law school clerkship, she authored numerous Appellate Court briefs in the area of family law, including a case of first impression to the Nebraska Supreme Court (Carter v. Carter, 758 N.W.2d 1 (Neb. 2008)) involving the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act (UCCJEA). She is admitted to practice in the State of Indiana and the State of Minnesota.
In addition to her private practice, Jennifer is a volunteer mediator in Dakota County and Ramsey County, and frequently volunteers her time to Legal Assistance of Dakota County (LADC). She is a co-founder of the volunteer Evaluative Mediation Program (EMP) in Dakota County. Jennifer is married and has three girls. She has been a working mom and a stay-at-home mom; she understands the dynamics of both. In her spare time, she enjoys staying active with her family, and a good read involves perusing recipes.
